Our Story: Big Flavor, No "A" Required

You’ve probably spotted the spelling and wondered: “Wait, isn’t it ‘Hoagie’ with an ‘a’?”

Technically, yes! But around here, we like to do things a little differently. “Hogie” was the nickname of one of our original founders, Mike Hogan. While we lost Mike in 2011, his spirit is the “secret sauce” in everything we do. We love and miss you, Hogie!

Who is Joe?
That would be Amy Parker Garner and Joey Kiel! We’ve been at the helm since we first opened our doors in 2010. Our mission has always been to create a “hot spot” where the beer is cold, the service is fast, and every guest feels like part of the family.

Can you actually eat a hoagie at Hogie Joe’s?
Absolutely. Whether you call them sandwiches, hoagies, or “Hogies,” we’ve perfected them (the Reuben is a local legend!). But we didn’t stop at sandwiches. Over the last 15 years, we’ve grown into a full-scale sports grill with a menu as diverse as our fans.

We are proud to be a multi-year winner for “Best Burgers in McDuffie,” but we invite you to come try it all—from our hand-cut steaks and fresh salads to our signature cocktails made with house-made syrups.

Whether you’re stopping in for a quick lunch or bringing the whole family for dinner, we’ve got a seat saved for you. Grab a cold beer, catch the game on our big screens, and see why we’re Thomson’s favorite place to hang out.

Cheers,
Amy & Joey
